The Westmeath Senior Football Chamionship learned its Final pairing this weekend with a shock result thrown into the mix.

St Lomans ran out eventual winners over Garrycastel on a scoreline of 2-10 to 0-12. However the result of the weekend was arguably Mullingar Shamrocks prevailing over the hotly fancied Tyrellspass by a single point. The final score was 0-10 to 0-09.

Hurling

The Wesmeath Senior Hurling Championship has also reached its penultimate stage with Clonkill set to take on Castletown and Lough Lene taking on Reharney.

Clonkill overcame a tough battle against Castlepollar on a score line of 1-15 to 1-11. Lough Lene saw off St Brigids by 14 points 2-19 to 0-11
