Kilkenny and Wexford Progress
Kilkenny and Wexford secured passage to the Semi Final stages of the O’Neills.com Leinster GAA U20 Hurling Championship.
Kilkenny 3-21 Offaly 1-16
There was never any sign of a shock at UPMC Nowlan Park as Kilkenny defeated Offaly 3-21 to 1-16.
Harry Shine impressed for the Cats, scoring 1-3 as Derek Lyng’s outfit set up a semi-final meeting against Galway.
First half goals from Billy Drennan and Shine ensured Kilkenny led 2-9 to 0-9 at the interval.
Lochlan Quinn was sharp for Offaly, but a third Kikenny goal was planted with two minutes remaining by substitute Jack Doyle.
Luke Nolan netted a last gasp consolation for Offaly, but sufficient Kilkenny damage had been inflicted.
Wexford 0-17 Laois 0-16
Cian Byrne struck seven points as Wexford edged out Laois at MW Hire O’Moore Park.
Wexford will now face Dublin in the penultimate round of the oneills.com Leinster U20 Hurling Championship.
At the end of the first half Laois held a 0-9 to 0-7 lead, but Wexford impressed after the restart.
Byrne rifled over a free and then Jack Redmond levelled, and Wexford eventually went 0-11 to 0-10 in front in the 40th minute.
AJ Redmond, Corey Dunbar Byrne, and substitute Tomas Kinsella contributed vital scores for Wexford.
Dan Delaney finished with a 0-7 haul for Laois, while Cillian Dunne was also sharp clipping three points.
