Dublin v Louth, Croke Park, 1.45pm, RTE
These are encouraging times for Louth football, who face a daunting task against the standard bearers at Croke Park.
Dublin, looking for a 14th Leinster SFC title in a row, have been ruthless when dismissing Meath and Offaly at GAA headquarters.
Louth, with Conor Grimes and Sam Mulroy prominent, have generated momentum by overcoming Wexford and Kildare en route to a second provincial decider in a row.
Ciarán Downey and Ryan Burns are others impressing in the Louth forward line, while Anthony Williams and Donal McKenny are influential figures in defence for Ger Brennan’s team.
With the minor and U20 Louth teams enjoying productive moments this year, the future appears bright with Ger Brennan’s seniors also delivering gritty displays.
Con O’Callaghan and Paul Mannion have been hugely effective for Dublin, who were beaten by Derry on penalties in the Allianz Football League Division One Final.
Dessie Farrell has rotated his panel well throughout league and championship so far, and Dublin will be eager to add more silverware to the extensive collection.
