Dublin and Kildare To Contest U20 Final
EirGrid Leinster Under 20 Football Championship semi-finals
Kildare 2-11 Offaly 0-15
Dublin 4-12 Meath 1-14
Kildare and Dublin will contest the EirGrid Leinster U20 Football Championship final.
At O’Connor Park Kildare struck a goal in either half to defeat Offaly, last year’s All Ireland winners, by 2-11 to 0-15.
Level, 1-5 to 0-8, at the interval, Offaly edged three points clear early in the second half, but Kildare responded impressively.
Daniel Lynam supplied a goal for Kildare in the opening period, while Cormac Delaney and Keith O’Neill were sharp for Offaly.
Aaron Browne was introduced in the third quarter for Kildare making a significant impact scoring 1-2 as the Lilywhites prevailed.
Dublin were always in control against Meath at Parnell Park, earning a convincing 4-12 to 1-14 success.
Three first half majors from Ryan O’Dwyer, Adam Waddick, and Luke Breathnach ensured Dublin held a commanding 3-7 to 0-4 advantage.
Meath improved considerably when the action recommenced, but Dublin refused to be perturbed.
A fourth Dublin goal arrived courtesy of the impressive Breathnach in the 36th minute.
Meath’s Eoghan Frayne pinched a consolation goal, but Dublin will meet Kildare in what promises to be a lively provincial decider.
