Gorey (1.30 pm): Colaiste Eoin, Dublin v St. Peter’s College, Wexford

At Croke Park for the draw and launch of the Top Oil Leinster Schools Senior Football ‘A’ Championship were Gerard Boylan, CEO Top Oil, Des Halpenny, Leinster Schools Chairperson, John Mulhare, brother of the late Brother Bosco, and Jim Bolger, Leinster GAA Chairman, with the Brother Bosco Cup.

The stage is set for a thrilling finale in the Top Oil Leinster Schools Senior A Football Championship, with eight sides remaining in contention for the Bro Bosco Cup.

Holders St Peter’s College of Wexford – who are also in the hunt for hurling glory – will meet a Colaiste Eoin side who feature the influence of several south Dublin clubs in their ranks.

Scoil Aodhain from Whitehall in Dublin have enjoyed some blistering good form in the competition and will now meet a Marist Athlone side who have also progressed steadily.

Naas CBS, who are back in the A championship after a lengthy gap, defeated a fancied Edenderry and drew with Good Counsel College. They meet a Knockbeg College side now who emerged from a tough group that included St Pat’s of Navan and Moate CS.

Louth Schools, whom draw heavily from the Ardee area, meet an Offaly schools side appearing in ‘A’ football for the first time.

A format introduced this season provided each school with at least two matches in the group stages, and while there were clear winners in some of the groups, others went down to the wire. Here’s a recap of the action so far:
