Sun Shines Down On Leinster GAA Championship Launch

May 3rd, 2017

Attention is turning to what will hopefully be an exciting summer of GAA action following the main launch of the Leinster Championships at the Pearse Museum, Rathfarnham, today (3rd May).

In glorious sunshine, players and mentors from all counties in the province looked forward to their upcoming games, with a large representation of media present for the occasion.

Among the attendance were the managers of the reigning provincial champions, Jim Gavin (Dublin) and Brian Cody (Kilkenny) along with a host of well-known stars.

The race for the Bob O’Keeffe Cup is already underway with the final series of games in the round-robin section on Sunday, 14th May, deciding which counties will secure the final two quarter-final places.

And the Football Championship throws-in on Sunday, 21st May, when six counties will battle it out in three first round ties.

Speaking at the launch, Leinster GAA Chairman, Jim Bolger complimented the players and mentors for their contribution to the GAA season and thanked the media for the coverage they afford our games. Mr Bolger also thanked the Championship sponsors, which are Eir, AIB and SuperValu in football; and Bord Gais Energy, Centra and Littlewoods Ireland in hurling.
